The meeting has a guest speaker and a topic that is something relevant to the group, e.g. Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney, or Housing services, or changes in legislation. If you have a suggestion for speakers or topics do please let us know, we are more than happy to accommodate new ideas.
Who can attend Branch Meetings: These meetings are particularly for parents and carers of autistic adults or adults who have Asperger syndrome, living in the Avon area (Bristol, South Glos, BaNES & North Somerset). Autistic adults are welcome.
Booking and cost: There is no charge (although contributions towards refreshments are always apreciated). Please let us know if you would like to attend by email: firstname.lastname@example.org; or phone: 07825 227026 so that we can anticipate numbers.

NAS Avon Branch meeting & AGM
Tuesday 20th November 2018, 10.30am
Held at: Rose Green Centre, 65 Gordon Road, Whitehall, Bristol BS5 7DR
The first 15 mins was the AGM for the election of Branch Officer, Treasurer and Committee Members.
Diana Elliott was re-elected as Branch Officer, and Terry Wright as Treasurer.
Liz Gray, Lynne Watkins and Catherine Bullock agreed to continue as Committee Members.
Jack Whittaker, who manages the closed Branch Facebook page, was unable to attend.
If you who would like to contribute in any way to the work of the branch e.g. raising awareness of autism locally, or helping with email enquiries – do please get in touch. We would love to hear from you!
Diana gave a short report about Branch activities explaining that the main purpose of the Branch now is to circulate out information by email and to answer email and phone enquiries. It is also important to attend local meetings to raise the profile of autism. In recent feedback people expressed interest in attending meetings to learn about topics of interest – so do please give us suggestions!
Terry was pleased to report that donations raised during the year had exceeded Branch costs.
Some of these donations were through www.easyfundraising.org.uk – where people can nominate a charity to support by going through this website when online shopping. (Details on our fundraising page)
At the meeting we were pleased to welcome Andrew Jack from AMD Solicitors who talked about Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney. If you would like to receive the handout notes from Andrew, please email us to request a copy: email@example.com
Thank you to all those who came to the meeting – it was lovely to see so many of you! This was clearly a topic that many parents and carers felt they needed to consider and we are grateful to Andrew for all the information he gave and for answering the many queries and concerns.
There are no further meetings planned. However, if there is something you would like to discuss as a group or something you would like to present to our group, please get in touch. Diana Elliott's contact details are, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or mobile: 07825 227026.
